Flake News

Maxims are truths.

So, I’ve decided to turn off the news. Just turn it off! At least for awhile. News can be an addictive thing and news junkies can feel the political pull luring them back just as surely as a drug addict can feel that inner need for a fix. (Psst, buddy, want some news, rumors? I gotcha CNN and Fox right here, so what’s it gonna be the blue pill or the red pill?). Okay, so maybe I’m exaggerating but exaggeration is a tool used by the media and honestly (now THAT’S a word to be wary of) one of the older tools in the toolbox. Both sides now use downright lies, video manipulation, hacking and foreign intervention to further their story and agenda. Each of us sits on our side of the issue and is fed the pablum that supports our views. It comes from our streaming habits, whether Netflix, Google, Facebook or just Alexa and Siri listening. We are given the information and input to support our already formed opinions and bolster them and every day we are shown a shiny object to distract us from what’s really going on. Focus on the big picture, cut thru the crap, rhetoric and insults and SEE the end game. Compare our values, our culture, our laws now and from just a few years ago. The bar has been set very low (as I’ve said before, the bar is so low we’re tripping over it). We’ve come a long way, and not in a positive sense, in a short time. “Mad Max” should not be viewed as a documentary.
